Initiative Overview

The growth of Engineering Simulation over the past few decades has provided significant and increasing value to the businesses that have embraced it. However, the number of companies capturing the full benefit of Engineering Simulation is still small, the growth in its use tempered due to the lack of expertise available, current limitations of the software, and regulatory environments that haven’t kept up with the latest technology. Despite the success of Engineering Simulation to date, a simulation revolution needs to occur which will bring a whole new set of opportunities and challenges.

The NAFEMS ASSESS Initiative is a broad reaching multi-industry initiative with a primary goal to facilitate this revolution of enablement that will vastly increase the availability and utility of Engineering Simulation, leading to significantly increased business benefits across the full spectrum of industries, applications and users. The ASSESS Initiative brings together key players from industry, government, academia and the software providers to guide and influence the software strategies for performing model-based analysis, simulation, and systems engineering. To achieve this vision the ASSESS Initiative will collaborate with multiple activities and organizations across the complete spectrum of Engineering Simulation.
